Attorney Lisa Sigman, Partner
For over 16 years, Lisa has been working with business owners, across a variety of industries and in all stages of the business life cycle. If there’s one thing she has learned in that time – as a single mom, a serial entrepreneur, and a team member in her client’s business – it’s this: that all the hopes, dreams, anxieties, f-bombs, and tears that go into a business, are ALL worth it, and should be protected. After all, you’re running your own business for a reason – to earn money, create a legacy, provide for others, or to prove you can do it.
Whatever reason set you on the path of entrepreneurship, you are here because you know you need to “cover your assets” and you need an attorney in your corner to help you do it. Just as no two businesses and no two business owners are alike, no two attorneys are alike either. Lisa’s own experiences as both a business owner and attorney gives her a unique perspective – from the trenches and from above – informing her method and style of working with her clients.

Attorney Diane Chubb, Partner
Diane has been practicing trademark and copyright law for over 25 years. She started as in-house counsel for 20th Century Fox in Los Angeles, handling trademark enforcement for the company’s 4000+ trademarks worldwide. (Yep, the Simpsons!) From there, she moved to a mid-sized firm providing Intellectual Property rights strategy reviews, acquiring federal trademark registrations, and enforcing trademark and copyright rights.
She knows how the big guys operate because she’s worked with them, representing clients such as an automobile manufacturer, a healthcare provider, a storage facility company, a clothing manufacturer, and several others. Whether it’s rolling out a new project, trademark strategy, or enforcement, she brings the Big Company thought-process to smaller business, allowing them to compete on a bigger playing field.
Solidly Gen X, Diane has watched the way technology has changed our lives as the foundations of intellectual property law have remained the same. A frequent guest speaker, she guides her clients through the challenges of today’s global marketplace in her own entertaining and memorable way.

As the mom of boy/girl twins, Diane frequently remarks that nothing scares her anymore. In fact, with this attitude, she has taken on some notorious trademark bullies in the industries, including Monster Energy Drink, securing rights for her client using the word “monster.”
She’s not one to back down from a fight but is mindful that winning the war does not mean winning every battle. A dispute is an invitation to negotiation, and Diane works with her clients to get what they need from settlement discussions.
With more than 25 years of legal and business experience, the IP team at Sigman, Khan & Chubb has the background, knowledge and track record to help your company develop your brand, protect an existing one, or defend your mark against a third party claim.
